Best. Christmas. Ever.

This year, I can honestly say that I've had the best Christmas EVER. Maybe because of my last grumpy gus post, it made me really attempt to perk up and be merry for Christmas time. I enjoyed every minute of them.

On Christmas eve we did our dinner at my moms house and opened presents and such. There was a lot of eating and a TON of laughing. Reminiscing, telling stories and looking at old photos is always a great time. Then Christmas morning I actually had the house to myself!!! That never happens. And it wasn't lonely at all being alone on Christmas morning. It was actually lovely. I tidied up and took my time getting ready and I enjoyed myself a lot. Then I went to my dads for lunch. The traditional bacon and cheese sandwich with extra bacon on the side. So delicious. Then I drove to Mike's(bf) parents house for their whole big family get together on his dads side. It was nice to see everyone there and his parents even got me a gift which I totally wasn't expecting! Then finally it was time to go back to Mikes house to bed(at the late night hour of 830pm haha). On boxing day we all(7 of us) hopped in the car and drove for two hours to Christmas with his moms side of the family. I himmed and hawwed about going to this because I seriously did not want to be driving around sooooo much. But in the end I sucked it up and decided to go. I'm very glad that I did. It was the right choice and it made Mikes mom very happy, which makes me happy and makes Mike happy too. Last night we had dinner at my dads(with no power, all generator) and it was a blast. Again lots of laughing and eating and storytelling.

I seriously enjoyed being around all my siblings so much. They all live about an hour away so we don't see each other often enough and I've learned to really appreciate the times that we do get together. I read a quote somewhere that if you don't put any effort into the holidays then its just another day. And this year that quote resinated with me. I am very thankful for the fact that I had the time to bake goodies and put up lots of decorations and do the traditions that make holidays feel like holidays. This year truly wasn't about the gifts at all and was just about the company and I don't know if its because my brother and his wife are having a baby or because I'm getting older but I'm grateful for how Christmas turned out this year.

I hope that everyone who reads this enjoyed their Christmas as much as I did. I also hope that I can stop focusing on the negative(like all the driving I had to do) and focus on the positives(like driving is the least I can do to see the people that I love). I think that just might be my New Years resolution!

  2. Hello again! Re: your comment about how to move pics around, here's a quick 'n' dirty.

There are two modes in which to write your blog posts: "Edit Html" and "Compose".

I'm guessing you're using "Compose" and uploading your photos through Blogger using the "Add Image" function.

To move the photo to a different part of your post in the "Compose" mode, first make sure the text is all finished, or at least mostly finished. Then upload the photo. Then you can click on the photo, drag it to another part of the post (in between the lines of text you want it to be), and then drop it by un-clicking it.

Hopefully that helps you. There are other ways to move photos around through the "Edit Html" function, but that will make more sense as you get more comfortable with your blog and html coding!
